- Please feel free to contact either Lisa McCawley or I if you have any questions regarding our budget. (Thanks Lisa!)
Season Summary
- We finished in the middle of our flight with 5 wins, 4 lost and 1 tie. This is a good result considering we moved up 1 flight.
- Our skills continue to improve, need to enhance awareness and anticipation during game situations.
- Will work on higher level skills (combination, set pieces, etc.).
- Positive attitude and mindset , some leadership beginning to emerge.
Our Strategy
- Risk verses safety, depending on which 1/3 of the field. Can be risky in front third, balanced in middle third, and must play safe in back third.
- Movement (making the runs, framing the goal, give and go, etc.).
- Individual creativity.
- Width when attacking, compact when defending. Emphasize decision making process.
Our Goal
- Short Term: good work ethics, self-motivated, adhere to team goal.
- Long term: self organized, less instruction during games.
- Longer term: character building, confidence, stay involved with soccer forever.
Training
- Trish, 2 sessions per week (Mondays 7:00-8:30pm, and Thursdays 6:00-7:30pm).
- Emmy 1 session per week , keeper training and defense training.
- Saturday morning 9:30-11:00am, conditioning and scrimmages.
Pre-Season Team Camp
- Week of August 23rd, Monday - Friday, 3 hours each evening.
- Organized by Julian Richens, coach of Riders University (Division 1). Julian is currently training flight 1 & 2 EB teams.
- Our cost is $2,225 per team, to be divided between participants.
- We expect this to be a quality team camp, and it is excellent preparation for the season.
Recommendations
- Continue to put in touches during the summer.
- Observe practices, talk to the players and feel free to ask questions.
- Encourage players to discuss issues or questions with me directly (playing time, position, the weather, anything else).
- Enjoy the games, please bring lawn chairs to games.
- Please wait 24 hours to discuss or comments on anything regarding the game.
Regarding uniform: Our normal home color is white and away is green. However, the home team is obligated to change if there is a conflict. Please always have both jerseys with you at all games, both home and away.
